The company raised its fiscal 2026 midpoint 62% to $10.5 million, held its $400 million to $460 million fiscal 2027 outlook, and moved its ULVAC machine delivery into October.
With geopolitical tensions and a trade war at center stage, rare earths are exploding in value. Evolution Metals (NASDAQ: EMAT) just doubled the floor of its revenue guidance in one month, and the company says higher rare earth prices are part of the reason.
On October 9, Evolution Metals & Technologies Corp. raised fiscal 2026 revenue guidance to $10 million to $11 million, up from the $5 million to $8 million range it issued on September 10. The low end doubled. The midpoint moved from $6.5 million to $10.5 million, a 62% increase delivered less than a month after the first outlook. Fiscal 2027 guidance of $400 million to $460 million was reaffirmed.
A Raise Built on Prices, Feedstock and Demand
The company attributes the increase to an expanded non-China rare earth feedstock position, improved rare earth pricing and continued commercial demand. The pricing point has outside support. BMI reported in February that NdPr oxide, a core input for high-performance magnets, reached a multi-year high near $100,000 a tonne in January, and it forecast a second consecutive year of market deficit. Fastmarkets reported that dysprosium oxide prices outside China rose to $2,500 to $3,500 per kg in the week ended October 1, from $1,910 to $2,500 a week earlier, as market participants pointed to U.S. demand ahead of the January defense sourcing rules.
The feedstock point traces to July 22, when the company received its first five metric tons of non-China NdPr metal from SRE Vietnam under its Senri Trading contract. The company has described that shipment as the first stage of an arrangement meant to scale with production.
Evolution Metals reported $3.5 million of revenue for the first half of 2026, so the larger share of the new full-year range falls in the second half. The company states that its guidance rests on anticipated customer demand rather than contracted volumes, which makes shipments the near-term test.
The Machines Are Now Scheduled Sooner
The release also moves the equipment calendar. Thirteen ULVAC sintered magnet production machines are now scheduled for delivery in October 2026, with installation to begin immediately in Pohang, South Korea. Earlier company disclosures pointed to November.
Once operating, the machines are expected to lift annual capacity from approximately 1,000 metric tons to more than 10,000, including roughly 6,000 metric tons of high-performance sintered magnets. The fiscal 2027 midpoint of $430 million is about 41 times the new 2026 midpoint, which shows how much of the outlook rests on that equipment reaching utilization.
A Sourcing Deadline and a Showcase Follow Closely
DFARS 252.225-7052 is set to extend its mine-to-magnet restriction across the supply chain for neodymium-iron-boron magnets beginning January 1, 2027. President Andrew Knaggs said the July Executive Order tightened the conditions for waivers and directed faster qualification of compliant sources.
On December 17, the company will open its Pohang facility to visitors. CEO Frank Moon said confirmations have already arrived from industry executives, government officials, trade partners, investors, banking research teams and the full board.
Where the Re-Rating Has Happened, and Where It May Not Have
The market has already rewarded rare earth producers that operate outside China. S&P Global Market Intelligence noted in December 2025 that shares of Lynas Rare Earths had more than doubled for the year, and cited consensus calling for Lynas revenue to roughly double to A$1.1 billion in 2026 on higher NdPr prices and volumes.
Evolution Metals sits one step further down the chain, at the finished magnet, where a company guiding to roughly $10 million this year is pointing to $400 million to $460 million next year. Execution risk is real. Equipment must be installed and commissioned, feedstock and working capital secured, and customers qualified before capacity becomes revenue. If prices hold, magnet makers with non-China material may look like the part of the chain the market has yet to price the way it has priced the oxide producers.

Delivery of thirteen additional ULVAC sintered magnet production machines scheduled for delivery in October are expected to expand annual capacity to more than 10,000 metric tons of magnets as EM&T scales its non-China feedstock position to meet strong customer demand
Evolution Metals & Technologies Corp. (“EM&T” or the “Company”) (Nasdaq: EMAT), a U.S.-based critical materials and advanced manufacturing company, today raised its fiscal 2026 revenue guidance to $10 million to $11 million, up from the previous range of $5 million to $8 million announced on September 10, 2026. The increase represents a 62% raise at the midpoint, delivered less than one month after the Company issued its initial outlook. EM&T also reaffirmed its fiscal 2027 revenue guidance of $400 million to $460 million.
Guidance Highlights
Fiscal 2026 revenue guidance raised to $10 million–$11 million (up from $5 million–$8 million); representing a 62% increase at the midpoint ($10.5 million vs. prior $6.5 million)
The raised guidance is driven by EM&T’s expanded ex-China rare earth feedstock position and the production capacity it unlocks, as well as improved rare earth pricing and continued strong commercial demand. The Company is actively scaling operations to meet this demand. In Pohang, thirteen additional ULVAC sintered magnet production machines are scheduled for delivery in October 2026, with installation to commence immediately following delivery. Once operational, these machines are expected to expand annual rare earth magnet production capacity to more than 10,000 metric tons, including approximately 6,000 metric tons of high-performance sintered magnets.
“The raised guidance reflects strong customer demand, improved rare earth pricing, and our ability to source rare earth materials that bring our additional production capacity online this year,” said Frank Moon, Chief Executive Officer of EM&T. “Our fiscal 2027 outlook is unchanged, and the operational priorities behind it remain clear: commission additional equipment, bring expanded power and facility capacity online, secure rare earth materials for higher production volumes, complete additional customer qualifications and convert demand into expanded magnet shipments. We will keep the market updated as we continue to execute at warp speed. We look forward to showcasing what we believe is the largest commercial magnet facility in the world, ex-China, on December 17, 2026. We have already received attendance confirmations from industry leaders and executives, government officials, trade partners, investors, banking research teams and, of course, our entire board, which includes veterans of senior U.S. government leadership.”
“Non-China rare earth magnet supply remains a strategic priority of U.S. national security and industrial policy decisions,” said Andrew Knaggs, President of EM&T. “DFARS 252.225-7052 is expected to extend the mine-to-magnet restriction across the entire supply chain for neodymium-iron-boron magnets beginning January 1, 2027, and the July 2026 Executive Order substantially tightened the conditions for waivers and directed faster qualification of compliant sources. EM&T’s manufacturing platform, non-China sourced rare earth materials and production expansion are built to meet those needs at commercial scale, while continuing to serve our established, revenue-generating global customer base.”

Two announcements on the same day put a validated European application and full European commercial rights in PolyPid’s hands, and may point to value well beyond the U.S. deal the market already knows about.
On October 1, PolyPid (NASDAQ: PYPD) announced two moves in Europe on the same morning. The European Medicines Agency validated the company’s Marketing Authorization Application for D-PLEX₁₀₀, and PolyPid regained full European commercialization rights to the product from ADVANZ PHARMA. D-PLEX₁₀₀ is applied directly into the surgical wound before closure and releases the antibiotic doxycycline locally for about 30 days. That matches the 30-day window the CDC uses to define surgical site infections after colon surgery, and runs long after standard IV antibiotics have cleared the body.
The two moves read best together. PolyPid’s lead product is now under regulatory review on both sides of the Atlantic, backed by positive Phase 3 data, an FDA Priority Review and a funded U.S. partner, and the company once again controls a major market it can partner on its own terms. The original European license was signed in 2022, before PolyPid’s pivotal data existed, and its terms reflected that uncertainty, with most of the value deferred to milestones. D-PLEX₁₀₀ now potentially returns to the European partnering table with a far more advanced asset, with its Phase 3 readout behind it, and the opportunity may extend well beyond what the prior European licensing agreement was pricing into it.
Europe Is Back, on Far Stronger Footing
PolyPid submitted the MAA on September 14 under the EMA’s Centralized Procedure. Validation confirms the application is complete and starts formal review, and an approval would bring a single marketing authorization valid across every European Union Member State. On the same day, PolyPid announced that it had regained exclusive European commercialization rights to D-PLEX₁₀₀ from ADVANZ Pharma. CEO Dikla Czaczkes Akselbrad tied the decision directly to the program’s progress: “Since entering into the original agreement in 2022, several transformative milestones have been achieved… We believe that this makes D-PLEX₁₀₀ a highly attractive opportunity for multinational pharmaceutical companies looking to enhance their product portfolio in the surgical site infection space in Europe and other large markets.”
That progress is easy to measure. When the European license was signed, PolyPid’s pivotal readout was still ahead of it and the deal carried a €2.5 million (approximately $2.6 million) upfront payment, a small slice of a package PolyPid valued at potentially more than $110 million. Since then, SHIELD II, a 798-patient Phase 3 trial in abdominal colorectal surgery, has met its primary endpoint and all key secondary endpoints, including a 60% relative risk reduction in surgical site infections (SSIs) versus standard of care (p=0.0013). The FDA accepted the New Drug Application with Priority Review and set a November 28, 2026 PDUFA goal date. In July, Azurity Pharmaceuticals licensed U.S. and Canadian rights in a deal that has already delivered $30 million to PolyPid. The agreement also carries eligibility for approximately $290 million in additional milestones, tiered royalties from the mid-teens to the mid-twenties, and a transfer price on product PolyPid manufactures. That $30 million alone is more than ten times the prior European deals upfront, and the deal’s mix of near-term cash, milestones, royalties and a transfer price gives PolyPid a recent template as it looks for a European partner.
Comparable deals set a useful benchmark. When ADVANZ licensed Dimerix’s Phase 3 kidney candidate for Europe and other territories in October 2023, while that trial was still running, it paid €6.5 million upfront, more than double what D-PLEX₁₀₀ commanded at a similar pre-readout stage, with up to €132 million in milestones. The European partnership has rarely come up in PolyPid’s communications in recent years and may never have figured meaningfully in how the market values the company. It now becomes a live opportunity in a market with real need: ECDC surveillance put the SSI rate after open colon surgery in Europe at 10.2% in 2023, and the EU-27 recorded roughly 356,000 new colorectal cancer cases in 2022.
A Product, and a Platform, With Room to Grow
Europe is one of several potential levers. Under the Azurity agreement, the partners plan to pursue label expansion beyond abdominal surgery with Azurity funding the work, and management has named C-section and joint replacement as candidates. In the EU alone, about 1.10 million caesarean sections and 1.06 million hip replacements were performed in 2023, according to Eurostat.
PolyPid also retains rights across Asia and Latin America, where the burden may be even greater. China recorded about 517,000 new colorectal cancer cases in 2022, the most of any country, and a 2024 meta-analysis of Chinese studies placed the colorectal SSI rate at 12.5%. In India, a study by the Indian Council of Medical Research estimated roughly 1.5 million SSIs a year.
Underneath all of it sits Kynatrix, the controlled-release platform PolyPid owns outright. On its August earnings call, management said it is “exploring exciting areas that go beyond prevention and into treatment applications,” alongside a long-acting metabolic program. Seen that way, D-PLEX₁₀₀ may be the platform’s first proof point, with more to follow.
The Setup From Here
The coming months bring the FDA’s November 28 PDUFA target action date, an anticipated early 2027 U.S. launch with Azurity, CHMP review in Europe, and a European partnering process that now begins from a validated filing, positive Phase 3 data and a manufacturing facility that has already passed Israeli Ministry of Health GMP inspections European regulators rely on for EU GMP certification. PolyPid has also said it believes its current cash, together with expected Azurity proceeds and future potential proceeds, will fund operations into 2028 and through several significant upcoming potential milestones. At the same time, drug development and regulatory review carry real risk, and no outcome is guaranteed.
Meanwhile, PolyPid remains largely under the radar, with a market capitalization of approximately $100 million. Against that sits a single U.S. agreement whose upfront and milestone payments alone reach up to approximately $320 million ($30 million of which has already been received). On top of those come tiered royalties from the mid-teens to the mid-twenties, which could add meaningfully if D-PLEX₁₀₀ is approved and gains traction, plus a pre-agreed transfer price on product PolyPid supplies, which further sweetens the deal. All of that comes from one agreement, for one product, in two countries, built on one platform. With Europe now back on the table and much of the world still unpartnered, if PolyPid plays its cards right, the D-PLEX₁₀₀ story may only be getting started.

Annual report finds software and AI adoption increasing as dedicated staffing tightens, while compliance and human reporting remain critical to diversion prevention
Bluesight, the leader in hospital intelligence solutions, today released its 2026 Diversion Trends Report, an analysis of controlled substance monitoring, compliance, and drug diversion trends across U.S. hospitals and health systems. The report analyzed more than 295 million controlled substance transactions across more than 1,500 hospitals and health systems nationwide, providing insights into how diversion programs are evolving as healthcare organizations invest in technology, compliance, and cross-functional oversight.
Key highlights from the report include:
“As diversion programs mature, hospitals are finding that technology, education and cross-functional collaboration all have an important role to play,” said Kevin MacDonald, CEO and co-founder of Bluesight. “AI can help teams work more efficiently and identify potential risks faster, but effective diversion prevention also depends on strong compliance practices and a culture where staff and patients feel empowered to raise concerns.”
Use of Technology and AI Support Expand, Safety & Compliance Driving Investment
While dedicated diversion staffing tightens, hospitals are increasingly relying on technology to support diversion monitoring and investigation. In addition to near-universal software adoption among surveyed diversion professionals, AI is beginning to play a greater role. Diversion teams using Bluesight’s Prism Assistant experienced a 96% faster turnaround on recurring reports and 90% faster pre-investigation triage, highlighting the potential for AI to help teams manage routine work and focus resources on higher-priority cases.
Patient safety remains the leading factor influencing budget approval for diversion technology, cited by 63% of respondents. At the same time, 82% of staff overseeing diversion efforts rank process improvements to drive compliance as a top measure of program success. Cross-functional oversight is also expanding, with 83% of diversion-focused staff reporting a diversion committee at their organization, up from 67% in 2025.
Human Reporting Adds a Critical Detection Layer, New Settings Create Risks
Data-driven alerts account for the majority of investigations, accounting for 83% of cases opened in ControlCheck during 2025. However, human reporting remains an important complement to automated surveillance. While patient and colleague reports accounted for less than 9% of investigations, 39% of patient-reported cases and 18% of colleague-reported cases resulted in confirmed diversion.
The report also highlights opportunities for more targeted education and oversight. Nursing continues to account for the majority of controlled substance activity and confirmed diversion, but anesthesiology roles had a substantially higher overall variance rate. Hospital size, meanwhile, had little impact on overall variance rates but affected how quickly organizations reconciled variances and completed investigations, underscoring the need for diversion programs to account for differences in workflow and care settings.
Report Methodology
The report analyzed data collected by Bluesight’s ControlCheck solution throughout 2025 and, where applicable, includes trend data dating back to September 2018. The dataset comprises more than 295 million controlled substance transactions from 1,593 hospitals and health systems nationwide. Additional insights are drawn from Bluesight’s 2026 Hospital Pharmacy Operations Survey, conducted in February 2026, which collected responses from 403 pharmacy professionals — 210 of whom are directly involved in diversion monitoring and prevention.
