Leading financial advice industry association, The Investments & Wealth Institute, in July has launched two new educational programs via the Academy, its online learning platform,.
Visual Insights, the first of these offerings, is a series of interactive nano courses designed to simplify complex financial topics and available on a monthly basis. They can be completed in approximately 10-15 minutes, and focus on topics relating to investment, retirement, estate, and tax planning. Developed in partnership with a visual resource company, visiWealth, Visual Insights strives to provide financial advisors with enhanced client communications tools. The first course of the series was launched on July 18, 2023, and covers the “4% Rule” for retirement portfolio withdrawals. Upcoming topics are scheduled to address 529 College Savings Plans, student loan repayment plans and charitable trusts. These resources are part of a recent member needs survey response are made available exclusively to Institute members, giving them broader access to relevant educational content.
The second newly introduced nano course is an asynchronous online offering custom designed to address the financial planning needs of small business owners and entrepreneurs, entitled Strategic Planning for Business Owners. The course provides 5 hours of certification and CFP® Continuing Education credits, and covers numerous topics such as business entity types, taxation, Corporate Transparency Act reporting obligations, and succession planning. Sara Dorosti from Comerica Bank, Leslie Geller of Capital Group | American Funds, and Annette Nellen from San Jose State University are among the key contributors to the program.
These new educational offerings are indicative of the Investments & Wealth Institute’s commitment to providing leading-edge, high-quality instructive resources to financial professionals. Since launching in October 2023, the Academy’s offerings have expanded to include a wide range of certificate programs, microcourses, webinars and short courses.
