The actual process of having a drug test is pretty straightforward. You go along to the testing facility, and you’ll sign in.
Then you’ll do some sort of questionnaire, and you’ll be asking questions prior to submitting your sample. These will help them to rule out false positives and head off any problems.
What they won’t do is search for you. That’s a bit of a fantasy because it’s illegal to do a full-body search on you for the purposes of administering a non-law enforcement/probation drug test.

So for the five panel drug test, five panels check for the five main types of drug metabolites (cannabis, opiates, cocaine, MDMA, and amphetamines).
- Should it fail stage two testing, then it will be analyzed using a full gas chromatography -mass spectrometry process.
At the end of stage two or three, you and the person commissioning the test will be told if you have passed or failed.
How Long Do Weed And Other Drugs Stay In Your Urine?
To explain to you why doing a natural THC detox on its own isn’t going to usually be enough to pass a urine drug test unless you have a ton of time, I want to talk to you about average drug detection times.
These are the sort of average drug detection times you will see if you search on Google:
- Marijuana up to 3 days
- Amphetamines up to 2 days

It’s also been scientifically proven that chronic cannabis users can still have cannabis metabolites detected in urine samples up to 30 days after the last joint, and some studies have even found metabolites as long as 50 days after the last consumption. So you have to take all of those drug detection times, even for heavy use with a pinch of salt.
The bottom line here is that you’re never going to get clean in a week if you are taking drugs several times per week. You will need at least two weeks to get naturally clean, possibly more. I’m guessing you won’t have that much notice before a drug test.

Do THC Detox Kits Work For Hair Drug Tests?
Standard THC detox kits will not work for hair drug tests because once the hair has grown out of the head then the cannabis metabolites will be indelibly trapped within the outer layer of the hair shaft.
