CIBC has launched the innovative CIBC Adapta Mastercard, Canada’s first credit card that automatically adapts to your spending habits, delivering 50% more points where you shop most.

The new, no annual fee card revolutionizes how Canadians earn rewards by automatically identifying your top three spending categories each month and awarding 1.5 Adapta Points per dollar in those categories, with one point per dollar everywhere else.

A credit card that adapts to your spending habits

The Adapta Mastercard is a new contender in the world of the very best Canadian credit cards. Unlike other cards that earn enhanced rewards in set categories, the Adapta Mastercard automatically adapts to your spending habits.

Cardholders earn 1.5 Adapta points on their top three spending categories each month and one Adapta point on all other purchases. There’s none of the confusing categories or restrictions you’d expect: simply use the Adapta Mastercard to make purchases and CIBC automatically calculates your highest earning category, with no activation required.

Here’s the list of eligible bonus categories:

Adapta points are redeemable for cash back as a statement credit to your Adapta Mastercard account balance, or as a deposit into an eligible CIBC financial product.

Adapta points welcome bonus: A nice head start

To celebrate the launch, CIBC is giving new Adapta™ Mastercard® accounts up to $100 in value thanks to a special, limited-time only welcome bonus:
